This Indicator provides information on the growth of arts occupations and their wages.
Why is it important?
A region that preserves its culture and heritage provides a means for residents and visitors alike to gain insight on local communities and traditions. By providing arts occupations via museums, historical and cultural societies, educational and community centers, and other local entities, the local economy can benefit from tourism and resident interests.
How is the region performing?
The region has seen increases in Arts and Design workers and Entertainers, Performers, Sports and related workers for Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wayne Counties. The entry level wages for these occupations are comparable to other occupations. The median wage is slightly higher than the average for other occupations, and the experienced wage is also comparable, being slightly lower for arts and designs occupations and slightly higher for entertainers and performers.
