Death Rate of Children Under Five

Description of Indicator
The death rates of children under five years old in each analyzed geography are documented in this indicator, measured using crude or age-specific rates per 100,000 residents.

Why is it important?
Mortality rates among this younger population may reflect a lack of access to quality healthcare, as well as system inequities. A better understanding of the trends in this data helps to identify areas where interventions are most needed.
