This indicator examines the quarterly breakdown of homes for sale within the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metropolitan area.

Why is it important?
For-sale inventory reveals the temperature of a housing market and the characteristics and composition of available homes for sale.

How is the region performing?
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metropolitan area’s for-sale inventory has declined over the six-year period analyzed, from 2,319 in Q1 of 2019 to 1,343 in Q4 of 2024. There was an increase of 3.9 percent from 2023 Q4 to 2024 Q4, following a decrease of 31.8 percent from Q4 2022 to Q4 2023.
