This indicator examines the quarterly breakdown of homes for sale within the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metro area.
Why is it important?
For-sale inventory is an important metric for assessing the temperature of a housing market as well as the supply of available homes for sale.
How is the region performing?
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton metro area’s for-sale inventory has declined over the four-year period analyzed, from 2,447 in 2019 to 1,335 in 2023. From 2022 Q4 to 2023 Q4 there has been an overall decrease of 31.8 percent, following a decrease of 6.7 percent from Q4 2021 to Q4 2022.
