Description of the Indicator
This indicator measures several air and freight travel factors for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. This indicator uses Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport data and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Not all carriers have reported their data.

How is the region performing?
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport experienced a 6.9 percent decrease in the number of passengers from 2022 to 2023, a 39.3 percent decrease from the overall highs seen in 2019. The percentage of on-time departures and arrivals experienced a 1.2 percent decrease from 2022 to 2023 and is 49.9 percent lower than the high values recorded in 2019. Additionally, the percentage of on-time departures and arrivals decreased by one and seven percent, respectively. Freight decreased slightly from 2022 to 2023 and has not rebounded from COVID-19.
