How is the region performing?
Lackawanna County experienced a slight increase of 1.3 percent in passenger vehicle registrations from 2020 to 2024. The total number of registrations for trucks greater than 5,000 lbs. decreased by 15.9 percent. Luzerne County also experienced an increase in passenger vehicle registrations from 2020 to 2024 (3.5 percent), and a decrease of 13.0 percent in trucks over 5,000 lbs. Wayne County experienced a decrease in passenger vehicle registrations from 2020 to 2024 (0.1 percent), and an increase of 22.8 percent in the total number of vehicle registrations for trucks over 5,000 lbs. Wyoming County passenger vehicle registrations decreased by 2.4 percent from 2020 to 2024, with a 14.9 percent increase in registrations for trucks over 5,000 lbs.
The number of passenger vehicle registrations across the Commonwealth decreased by 2.9 percent from 2020 to 2024, and the number of registrations for trucks over 5,000 lbs. decreased by 27.7 percent.
