Description of the Indicator
This indicator shows the average annual pay for the region and the state.
Why is it important?
Tracking average annual pay enhances understanding of a population’s income levels. Earnings may also be compared across different occupation groups or other characteristics.
How is the region performing?
Annual pay increased in all geographies over time; however, the region is still not competitive with the state numbers in this category. The differences are significant; the average for the state is 36.5 percent higher than Wayne County’s rate, 33.6 percent higher than Lackawanna County’s rate, and 27.9 percent higher than Luzerne County’s rate.
