Description of the Indicator
The Employment by Occupation indicator examines the distribution of employment by occupation category.
Why is it important?
Identifying how workers are employed aids in the understanding of a region’s growing and shrinking occupations and industries.
How is the region performing?
The region has a various diverse base of occupations across a number of industries. Office and Administrative Support is the most prevalent occupation group, followed by Transportation and Material Moving in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. In Wayne County, Office and Administrative Support is followed by the Sales and Related occupation group.
