This indicator shows the total numbers of employees in the region and the state.
Why is it important?
The number of employees can determine the potential for economic growth within the region. This Indicator falls in line with the number of business establishments; minimal growth in the number of businesses could indicate that the number of workers will remain stagnant.
How is the region performing?
The region is performing well, with increases in the total number of employees since 2020 after a decrease from 2010 to 2020. Employment in Pennsylvania and Wayne and Luzerne Counties already exceed 2010 numbers.
