Description of Indicator
This indicator measures the number of annual DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol) arrests reported.
Why is it important?
Tracking DUI offenses allows for effective resource allocation. Where DUI is problematic, for instance, law enforcement may implement efforts such as sobriety checkpoints. This data may also help measure the impact of specialized interventions and prevention programs.
How is the region performing?
DUI offenses have not followed a clear trend in recent years. From 2024 to 2025, recorded offenses declined in all counties and the Commonwealth and have decreased over the past decade.
