Description of Indicator
The Occupations indicator depicts the percentage of workers in management occupations broken down by race and ethnicity.

Why is it Important?
Diverse leadership opportunities play a significant role in business wealth creation and accumulation and can help address the racial wealth gap in the United States as well as stimulating the economy more broadly. In addition, diversity across leadership helps to drive innovation, can increase productivity, and improves company culture.

How is the Region Performing?
The percentage of workers in management occupations has slightly increased from 2022 – 2023 across all races and ethnic groups identified in the table. Those identifying as Black or Hispanic or Latino (of any race) are the least represented in management occupations. While those who identify as White or Asian count for a greater share of those in management occupations across the three-county region.
