This indicator depicts the percentage of workers in management occupations, categorized by race and ethnicity.
Why is it important?
Diverse leadership contributes to wealth creation and accumulation. It can help address the racial wealth gap in the United States and stimulate the economy more broadly. In addition, diversity across leadership helps to drive innovation, increase productivity, and improve company culture.
How is the region performing?
In the past year, the percentages of management workers who are Black increased in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wayne Counties, and remained the same in Wyoming County. The same percentage trends for management workers who are Hispanic were recorded. The shares of managers who are of two or more races increased in three geographies (information for Wyoming County was not available).
